A Generic Post

I’ve been off work for two weeks (Easter baby!) in that time i didnt roughly nothing but if you really want to pick at straws this is what i got upto…

  • It was my birthday, i turned 23. We went out for a meal which was lovely.
  • A pretty much 5 day bender that started on a Wednesday and ended on a Sunday. Wednesday, Fever, Friday’flex, camping and i’m pretty sure i went out on the Sunday too. Yeah i did because it was bank holiday.
  • Full on all dayer complete with Karaoke, reflex and vomitting on Friday, just because we could. It was epic
  • Went to the seaside, Skegness to be exact. It was so sunny and nice but so so so windy.

So that was my two weeks off, how about everyone else?

The Year So Far…

As “No Drink January” is almost at the midway point i thought i would do a quick re-cap of the last 2 weeks. So far it’s been a right royal laugh on the whole, NYE was brilliantly fun and New Years Day involved the obligitory Chinese take away, just what you need after drinking a bit too much the day before. The bank holiday Monday was a good way to start the year at work off nice and slowly, although it did completely throw me off for the week as i didnt know what day it was from day to day. I seemed to jump straight in at the deep end on Tueday with a full day at work and then my evening job too. The worst part is my evening was a planning meeting. So after a 12 hour day i was very much in the ‘back at work’ mind. Only 7 weeks till half term though…

The first film i watched this year was Godfather Part I which is, i think you’ll agree, a brilliant way to bring in the year film wise. I need to watch Godfather Part II now but i think i’ll wait until everyone is back from Uni as it’s very much a shared experience. Me and her went out for a meal on the Weds which was very nice and headed to the pub afterwards for a general chin wag and gossip. It was to be Stu and Rob’s final Wednesday in the Nuneaton until the next time in the future so it was a good way to see them off. Friday presented the next challenge of ‘No Drink Jan’ but i decided to drive so it wasnt too difficult in the end. Friday night turned out to be really enjoyable. I got to the tav expecting another run of the mill Friday but it was so dead in there that we made the decision to do something different. Sometimes it feels like we have that conversation every time we go in that place but this time we actually did it. After some “well what do you want to do?” type conversations we made the decision to go bowling. I know, on a Friday night how very rock n roll. But we got there at just gone 10 to find that it was £2 a game after 10 which was pretty much the greatest news ever. Two games for £4, aside from the usual stroppy competitiveness from me it was a very enjoyable evening.

Saturday bought with it the stall for the first time in atleast 2 months. Despite the fact that it’s really early it is rather enjoyable. Not as many crazy people as normal but we did get a lot of support for the youth service campaign, which is always nice. I’m looking forward to the stall in the summer, shorts and steel band. Livin la vida loca!

That night was spent with my lovely lady watching films and eating pizza. Sunday i slept in pretty late and when i got up it was time to have Sunday dinner. Nom. I get to make the yorkshire puddings now as well, take that Aunt Bessie! After that i met up with the girl and we went to Hobby Craft, which is so expensive and then too Big Tesco where i spent far too much money but i did buy an awesome Stone Cold Steve Austin film. So swings and round-a-bouts. So generally a brilliant weekend. When we got back we watched Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, which was completely terrible.

A whole week has now gone by and it’s the weekend again, hurrah!
