My Thoughts on ‘Mania
********************* Spoilers*********************
Was quite good.
It took me about the first hour to get into it, but after that i really started to enjoy it. Despite Christian Bale it was actually very enjoyable.
Although it does make me want to watch Rocky now though
It’s Not My Fault You’re Wrong
This might be my favorite phrase at the minute. I don’t really know why, I’m becoming bored with ‘the norm’ again. It usually happens every so often. Work, work, pub, work, weekend, work, work, work, pub repeat. Although moaning about this does not necessarily mean I’ll do anything about it.
Things i am enjoying at the minute;
It’s probably wrong that I’m struggling to think of anything else at the minute. Things that are happening in the near future that i am pretty excited about
There’s also been a few hints of the ‘Christmas’ word knocking around, this has to stop. I hate Christmas. I dont hate it because it’s cool to hate it, i hate it because it’s about organised fun, doing things with your family ‘because it’s Christmas’, bullshit commercial false bullshit and worse of all underneath all that commercialised marketed crap it’s about Jesus. I dont give a shit about Jesus. The only good thing to come out of Christmas is that college is closed between Christmas and New Year so I’ll have at least a week off.
“It’s not terrible, it’s just terribly uninteresting.”
This quote is from film critic Mark Kermode and, in general is how i feel about most films. I always thought i was a ‘film fan’, but I’m starting to change how i feel about films. I haven’t liked a film that came out recently for a long long time (I’m taking out films aimed at children as i think they come under ‘nostalgia’). Films that everyone else seems to love i usually think are ‘fine’ and almost always ‘too long’. I think this makes expressing your opinion on something quite difficult, saying “it was fine” and shrugging your shoulders is hardly deeply critical. It annoys me when people say i only don’t like films because lots of other people like them, i don’t really get how this is even possible. I love some frankly shite films and some films that have grossed huge money;
